Procedure

This procedure will be used to award curriculum credit for approved continuing education units. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are earned in non-credit course offerings at the rate of one unit for ten (10) hours of participation in a course. Curriculum credit is awarded at the rate of one credit hour for sixteen (16) hours of satisfactory performance.

Continuing education courses will be approved for curriculum education course equivalency when:

1. The continuing education courses require at least the same student learning outcomes as the curriculum course as documented on the course syllabus.
2. The continuing education course is equivalent in hours of instruction to the curriculum course as documented on the course syllabus. The credentials of the continuing education course instructor meet curriculum standards.
3. The continuing education course requires assessment of course work, evaluation of performance by exam, and attendance as documented on the course syllabus.
