Consistent with rules promulgated by the State Board of Community Colleges, Bladen Community College subscribes to an “open door” admissions policy. This policy provides for admission of legal residents of the United States who are high school graduates, 18 years old, or emancipated minors. Admission to the college is open without regard to race, creed, disability, national origin, gender or age to students who meet the graduation or age standard. BCC also provides education and training to students seeking basic skills up to and including high school credentials; high school students seeking access to college-level courses while still in high school, up to and including certificates and associate degrees; and, adults seeking non-credit training to improve their knowledge and skills. Affirmative Action, Equal Educational Opportunities and compliance with the American with Disabilities Act are viewed as an integral part of the college’s mission and purpose.
