Financial Aid Eligibility
To receive financial aid students must:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is available after October 1 of each year for the following academic year. Students may apply online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
- Make sure Bladen Community College school code (007987) is listed on the FAFSA.
- Submit an admission application to the college and make sure all admissions requirements are met.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent, meet other standards the state establishes that the Department of Education approves, or complete a high school education in a home setting that is treated as such under law.
- Be working toward a degree or diploma in an eligible program.
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Have a valid Social Security Number.
- Register with the Selective Service. Students may register online at www.sss.gov or call 1-847-688-6888 (TTY users may call 1-847-688-2567).
- Students have an obligation to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as defined by the U.S. Department of Education and this institution. Each financial aid recipient is provided a copy of this policy upon notification of an award. A copy of the requirements can also be obtained from the Financial Aid Office.
- Certify that you are not currently in default on a federal loan and do not owe money on a federal student grant.
- Certify that you will use federal student aid only for educational purposes.
