Alma Parker Farris Annual Business Scholarship
The Alma Parker Farris Scholarship was given by Ms. Farris to recognize a student who is seeking a degree in the business field. Preference will be given to a female student. This scholarship will be funded annually to cover tuition for the fall and spring semesters.
Bladen Community College Annual Ambassador Scholarship
The Bladen Community College Foundation awards scholarships annually to three-four students who display leadership ability and who will represent the college throughout the school year at various functions and activities. The scholarships provide for partial payment of tuition, books, and fees. Bladen Community College Endowed Faculty Senate Scholarship
The Faculty Senate awards one scholarship per year. This scholarship will pay for tuition, activity fees, and books for the fall and spring semesters.
Bladen Community College Foundation Annual Merit Scholarship
The Bladen Community College Foundation board established the Foundation Merit Scholarship to be awarded to a rising second year student. The Scholarship is awarded to help cover a portion of the tuition and fees for the student's second year at BCC.
Bladen County Commissioners Annual Scholarship
This scholarship, given annually from the Bladen County Commissioners, assists Bladen County students who are enrolled full time, with tuition, fees, and books.
Bladen We Care Endowed Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Scholarship
The Bladen We Care ADN Scholarship was given to provide scholarships annually to students enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program at Bladen Community College. The recipient of this scholarship must commit to working in Bladen County upon graduation.
Bladen We Care Endowed Allied Health Scholarship
The Bladen We Care Allied Health Scholarship was given to provide scholarships annually to students enrolled in the Allied Health programs at Bladen Community College. The recipient of this scholarship must commit to working in Bladen County upon graduation.
Bladen We Care/UNCP Endowed Allied Health Scholarship

Cecil W. McClure Endowed Welding Scholarship
This scholarship was given by Cecelia McClure Davis, in memory of her father, Cecil W. McClure, a former welding instructor at Bladenboro High School. This scholarship is for a welding student.
Chemours Company - Fayetteville Works Future of Chemistry Annual Scholarship
The Chemours Company - Fayetteville Works Future of Chemistry Annual Scholarship is awarded to students who have been accepted and enrolled in a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) or a North Carolina Community College with a focus on Math, Science, and STEM to societal innovation and progress.
Clark Brothers Endowed Scholarship
The Clark Brothers Scholarship was established by Manly, Giles, David, and Rogers Clark. It was established to assist high school graduates who have outstanding academic abilities and a need for financial assistance to further their goal of a college education.
Charles Munn Jr. Endowed Scholarship
The Charles Munn Jr. Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Charles Munn Jr., a deacon of Pleasant Union Baptist Church for over 42 years, Town Councilman of East Arcadia, and former dedicated trustee of Bladen Community College.
David F. Yarborough Endowed ADN Scholarship
The David F. Yarborough Scholarship was established in memory of David F. Yarborough for students in the Associate Degree Nursing Program. David had a sincere love and concern for people, and it is appropriate that this scholarship be awarded to students at Bladen Community College striving to achieve their Associate Degree in Nursing.
Dennis H. Troy Endowed Scholarship
The Dennis H. Troy Endowed Scholarship for the physically disabled was established in 2016 as Mr. Troy believes that education is a way for all individuals to improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their communities. To be eligible for this scholarship the applicant must be a North Carolina resident, maintain a 2.5 GPA, be enrolled as a full-time student with a minimum of twelve semester hours, and submit a letter of recommendation. Further, the applicant is to be a motivated, capable learner who has a demonstrated economic need. The applicant is to submit an essay stating why they have chosen their career path and how this scholarship will help them attain their educational goal.
Dr. William C. Keith Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. William C. Keith. Dr. Keith was a retired dentist and former Mayor of Elizabethtown. He served on the Bladen Community College Board of Trustees when the college was originally named Bladen Technical Institute. The recipient must be pursuing a course of study leading to a technical degree, vocational diploma, or with the intent to transfer for completion of a baccalaureate degree.
Dublin Peanut Festival Annual Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Dublin Peanut Festival Committee to be awarded to a West Bladen High School senior who plans to attend Bladen Community College. The student must have a GPA of 2.8 or higher and be enrolled as a full-time student.
Edward J. Cox Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was given by Ruth Cox Church in memory of her brother Mr. Edward J. Cox, a champion of education in Bladen County and one of the original Bladen Community College Trustees.
Elizabethtown Rotary Club Annual Scholarship
The Elizabethtown Rotary Club is a voluntary organization made up of business and professional leaders who take an active role in their communities while greatly enriching their personal and professional lives. Encouraging high ethical standards and respect for all worthy vocations has been a hallmark of Rotary from its earliest days. The motto of Rotary is “Service above Self.” With this in mind, the Elizabethtown Rotary Club has established an annual scholarship of $500 to be given to a graduating senior.
Essic Williams Endowed Scholarship
The Essic Williams Endowed Scholarship has been given in memory of Mr. Williams, a longtime Bladen County educator. Mr Williams served many rolls in the Bladen County School System first as a teacher, then administrator, assistant principal, principal and finally superintendent. Mr. Williams was also a leader at Bladen Community College having first been named a trustee in the early 1970's. At the time of his death, he had been chairman of the Board of Trustees for 20 years. It is the donors hope that the recipient will regard this scholarship as an obligation to make the most of their career goals and as an opportunity to help others. It is also our hope that the student who is selected will model scholarship, leadership, and service in their own lives and serve as good models for future recipients. Although we cannot always "pay it back", we can "pay it forward". It is our desire to support those who subscribe to this same philosophy.
Eunice Smith Memorial Annual Scholarship - Non-Traditional Student Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Daine & Charlotte Smith in memory of Ms. Eunice Smith. The scholarship recipient is to be a non-traditional student. The funds will cover tuition, books, and fees.
Finn Swiim Endowed Summer Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Ms. Tiina Mundy to celebrate a landmark birthday and to bring attention to health and wellness. Ms. Mundy, a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and a competitive diver, wished to help students meet their academic goals. It is her expressed hope that the recipient will regard this scholarship as an obligation to make the most of their career goals and as an opportunity to help others.
Four County EMC Scholarship
The Four County EMC Scholarship was established to give assistance to students who are residents of Bladen County and who maintain a 2.5 GPA.
Harmony Hall/Livingston Endowed Scholarship
The Harmony Hall/Livingston Endowed Scholarship has been given in memory of William Robert Livingston and Myrtle Lee Suggs Livingston. The applicant must be enrolled at Bladen Community College. Priority will be given to a descendant or family-connected relative of William Robert Livingston or Myrtle Lee Suggs Livingston. The applicant must have two letters of recommendation-one from his/her high school teachers or principal and the second from a reputable person in his/her community. If the applicant is family connected then the second letter should be from a family member. If reapplying they must follow the same criteria as above except they are to secure a letter of recommendation from a Bladen Community College advisor.
Harold Dean Ingram, Sr. Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was given by the Clarkton Lions Club in memory of Harold Dean Ingram, Sr. The recipient of this scholarship should demonstrate merit and commitment to furthering their education. Mr. Ingram’s dedication to his community and county having served for over 30 years in the Bladen County School System.
Hiram K. Hester Endowed Scholarship
The Hiram K. Hester Endowed Scholarship has been given in memory of Mr. Hester by his family. Mr. Hester, who was born and raised in Bladenboro, North Carolina, believed in the strength of small communities. He desired to assist in growing the level of education of the rural community in which he was reared. Preference will be given to a Bladenboro resident who resides within the area of inclusion of the Bladenboro zip code 28320. If there is no applicant who meets this criteria, then the recipient will be selected from the entire county of Bladen and beyond. Applicants must be enrolled as a full time student with at least a 2.5 grade point average. They are to be motivated, a capable learner who demonstrates economic need. It is the donors hope that the recipient of this scholarship will regard this as an obligation to make the most of their career goals and as an opportunity to help others.
Houston & Irene Brisson Endowed Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of two of our area's outstanding citizens, Houston and Irene Brisson, to assist high school graduates who are enrolled in a nursing program and have outstanding academic abilities and a need for financial assistance.
Invest in Bladen Endowed Scholarship
The overall purpose of this scholarship is to expand educational opportunities for the citizens of Bladen County. This fund is primarily to be utilized as student assistance through scholarships, loans, and grants.
James and Gladys Powell Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is given by the family of James R. and Gladys Powell. Mr. Powell was a former member of the College Board of Trustees.
James Byron "JB" Priest Memorial Agribusiness Endowed Scholarship
The James Byron "JB" Priest Memorial Agribusiness Endowed Scholarship has been given in memory of Mr. Priest, who was a lifelong resident and farmer in Council, North Carolina. The scholarship is for a Bladen County resident who is enrolled as a full-time student in the agribusiness program and plans to pursue a degree in an agribusiness related field.
James B. Collins Endowed BLET Scholarship
This scholarship is given in memory by the family and friends of James B. Collins who passed away in the line of duty. This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student enrolled in the Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Program.
Jeffrey and Susan Kornegay Endowed Scholarship
The Jeffrey and Susan Kornegay Endowed Scholarship was established in 2018. The scholarship has targeted preference for students enrolled in the Allied Health Curriculum at Bladen Community College. Mr. Kornegay attended Bladen Community College and furthered his education at Campbell University where he received his BA.M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling. Over his 30+ year career in academia, Mr. Kornegay has held various positions. Most recently he has held the position of Executive Vice President/Chief Academic Officer. Mrs. Kornegay is also a graduate of Campbell University, receiving her B.A. in education. After several years of teaching, she decided to return to college attending Robeson Community College and received her Associate Degree Nursing credentials. For over 20+ years she has worked in the Bladen County Public Schools as a school nurse. She presently is at Dublin Elementary and Tar Heel Middle Schools. The Kornegay's believe that we are here not just to further our own ends, but also to contribute to a larger purpose. It is their hope that the recipient of this scholarship will regard it as an obligation to make the most of their career goals and opportunities to help others. It is also their hope that the student selected will model scholarship, leadership, and service in their own lives and serve as good models for future recipients.
Jeremy Thomas Moss 2nd Chance Welding Endowed Scholarship
The Jeremy Thomas Moss 2nd Chance Welding Endowed Scholarship was established in 2018. The scholarship is for students enrolled in the welding programs. Preference will be given to a Bladen County resident enrolled as a full-time student with at least a 2.0 GPA. The family has established this scholarship in Jeremy's memory because of the "2nd Chance" that was given him at BCC. It is their earnest desire that those students who struggle greatly to find their way will be embraced and encouraged as he was by the faculty and staff at BCC. It was because of the effort of a few that a child was so greatly impacted and given an opportunity to right himself and be hopeful for a bright future. Further, it is hoped that the recipient will regard this scholarship as an obligation to make the most of their life goals and likewise take every opportunity to help others. While we cannot always "pay it back" we can "pay it forward".
Kathy Murdock Page - Bladen Crisis Assistance Scholarship
Kathy Murdock Page was instrumental in establishing the food pantry for Bladen Crisis Assistance and has worked as a volunteer with this organization for many years. Kathy feels this mission was assigned by God as she asked for help and guidance in getting the food pantry started. The food pantry has been successful in providing tons of food to hungry and needy people in Bladen County. The donors give with the hope that recipients will regard this scholarship as an obligation to make the most of their career goals and as an opportunity to help others by modeling the community service spirit.
Lee Anne and Carlton Bryan Annual Information Technology Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Lee Anne and Carlton Bryan to assist students in the Information Technology program at Bladen Community College. A student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average to qualify. It will be awarded to a deserving IT student based upon need and academics.
Louis and Louise Parker Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was given by the family of Louis F. and Louise Parker. Mr. Parker was a former member of the Bladen Community College Board of Trustees. Mr. Parker was one of the founding trustees and faithfully served the college until his death.
Lynn and Iris King Endowed Teaching Scholarship
The Lynn and Iris King Scholarship was established in memory of Mr. Lynn Grey King, Sr., a long-time educator in Bladen County. Mr. King served as the second president of Bladen Community College from 1985 - 1997. This scholarship is to assist high school graduates who have outstanding academic abilities and a need for financial assistance to further their goal of a college education.
Mary Alice Scoggins Endowed College Transfer Scholarship
The Mary Alice Scoggins Scholarship was established in memory or Mary Alice Scoggins for deserving students enrolled in the College Transfer Program at Bladen Community College.
Mike W. Merritt Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Mike W. Merritt, a 1992 graduate of East Bladen High School. At the time of his passing Mike worked for the Town of White Lake as a member of the White Lake Volunteer Fire Department. This scholarship embraces Mike's belief that we are not just here to further our own ends, but are here to contribute to a larger purpose.
Mundell Homestead Non-Traditional Endowed Scholarship
The Mundell Homestead Non-Traditional Endowed Scholarship stated purpose is to provide for furthering the knowledge and education applicable to small scale and homestead farming. The applicant is to submit two letters of recommendation with their application. They should maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and be an enrolled full-time non-traditional student in the Agribusiness Program. They are to carry a minimum of twelve semester hours and continue enrollment for the duration of the scholarship. It is important for the applicant to be motivated and a capable learner with demonstrated economic need.
NC Pork council Scholarship
This scholarship benefits degree-seeking student(s) enrolled in the study of agriculture, swine management, animal science, environmental sciences, public health or related agricultural fields.
Nightingale Annual Associate Degree Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Ms. Sharon Natale. When Ms. Natale retired from Bladen County Hospital as Director of Nursing she had worked closely with her nursing staff in assisting them with scholarship opportunities offered through the Bladen County Hospital Foundation. Ms. Natale herself received scholarship support while attending East Carolina University and knew firsthand how important it is to help students achieve their life goals. She further states that in order to grow our own leaders and professionals is to nurture those in our local community colleges and provide them with the educational opportunities they need to succeed.
Nightingale Practical Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is to support a student enrolled in the practical nursing program at Bladen Community College. scholarship will be funded annually for $750 and will be dispensed at $250 each semester for fall, spring and summer to cover tuition, books and fees.
Robert C. Clark Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of former Clarkton native and Mayor, Robert C. Clark, who was dedicated to helping others throughout his life.
Rust Enterprises/McDonald's Annual Scholarship
The Rust Enterprises/McDonald's Annual Scholarship was established to give a pathway for their employees to pursue a higher education. A scholarship application must be completed by a McDonald's employee who has been employed for a minimum of three months and be working an average of 24 hours per week. They must either be an entering Bladen Community College student or presently enrolled as a full-time student. The applicant must carry a minimum of twelve semester hours while maintaining at least a 2.0 GPA for the duration of the scholarship.
Sam and Helen Kelly Parker Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Edward W. and Agnes Parker Najam of Bloomington, Indiana, in memory of Sam and Helen Kelly Parker, Mrs. Najam's parents. The Parkers were long time citizens of Elizabethtown and very involved in the city's business and community life.
Star Telephone Annual Scholarship
The Star Telephone Membership Corporation Scholarship Program was established to assist high school graduates who have outstanding academic abilities and a need for financial assistance to further their goal of a college education.
State Employees Credit Union Annual Scholarship
The State Employees Credit Union Foundation has established this two-year scholarship program to assist North Carolina Community College students to achieve success.
Wells Fargo Annual Technical Scholarship
The Wells Fargo Technical Scholarship is given by Wells Fargo to full-time students enrolled in the second year of a two-year education/technical program and who demonstrate financial need and scholastic promise.
William R. Boyd Scholarship
An annually funded scholarship to be dispensed equally between the fall and spring semesters to cover tuition. The designated recipient will be a female student who is pursuing a degree in business field.
828 Networks Annual Scholarship
THE 828 NETWORKS® ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP was established in 2018. In keeping with Romans 8:28 - "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." This scholarship is for students who have financial needs that are not being covered through other revenue sources.
