College History
Bladen Community College, located in Dublin, North Carolina, has a rich history rooted in the commitment to providing accessible higher education and workforce development opportunities to the people of Bladen County. Established in 1967, as Bladen Technical Institute. We offered our first classes in January of 1968. It was not until July of 1971 that the college relocated to our current location in Dublin from using various locations around Elizabethtown. Mr. Roy Brisson donated the land for the college which is now approximately 41 acres and includes over 15 buildings. In 1979 our name changed to Bladen Technical College and in 1987, our name changed to Bladen Community College to better reflect our expanded offerings, including associate degree programs, workforce development, adult education, and continuing education courses. The college has played a vital role in the region by fostering economic growth, providing educational access to non-traditional students, and preparing individuals for careers in various fields. With a focus on student success and community engagement, Bladen Community College continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of its student population.
